In which we are human monsters. Check it nerds: it's our season finalé. We have seasons now. DEAL WITH IT DOT GIF. On this week's show: it's THE RETURN OF DOCTOR MYSTERIO or us, as we see it, a show for FRIGGEN NERDS. Like us. We're the nerds. So yeah. We discuss this year's Doctor Who Christmas special in which folks unzip their heads and also there is a lot of Superman references that Steven Moffat googled a bit. Over the course of the show, we tear into silver age comics and introduce to you the French Doctor and it is not offensive. So don't worry about it. We said don't worry about it. In which we (finally) get to the thrilling conclusion of CLASS! And uh, it's a thing. So! With the Doctor Who Christmas Special just around the corner, we're going face deep into "The Lost", which wraps up this whole weird experiment. As we do so, we go swiftly off the rails, just like the show did, and talk about chaperones going downtown, what constitutes a good bonkers, and how Ram is pretty useless, among other things. Stay tuned over the holiday season for our take on the Christmas Special! We'll see you in 2017. Outro music is "The King Is Dead" by Ruby Vileos |
Mon, 12 December 2016
In which everything you hear is adatomically correct. On this episode, Danica and Brandon are nearing the end of Class with episode seven - "The Metaphysical Engine or What Quill Did", and the whole thing is about deep smooching as three grown ass adults bang around in a tub. Also, someone murders a satan, and the ending is super weird. But uh... that's Class. Outro music is "Tubthumping" by Pastel Vespa

Mon, 5 December 2016
In which we're extremely late with this but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On this episode, Danica and Brandon tackle "The Detained" - the 6th episode of Class. It involves truth rocks that'll burn your brain and spill your teen feels all over the place. Which is bad, for a room filled with teen feels. Outro music is "Detention" by School Gyrls. Because why not. |
Fri, 18 November 2016
In which we try to make sense of Class and might fail in the process. On this week's show, Brandon and Danica take another spin at trying to explain what's been happening on Class as they recap "Brave-Ish Heart" - the fifth episode in the first series. The results of which are very mixed, but hey, at least you get another one of Brandon's surreal episode descriptions of bonkers plot points! Also on this episode: we still love Brooklyn 99, y'all! It's amazing. Outro music is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten. |
Fri, 11 November 2016
In which Class goes sideways in a really weird way, but hey, we're drunk, so whatever. On this week's show, we reach the midpoint of CLASS with episode four, "Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart" and things get really weird. Are you ready for crazy teen/shadow monster sex scene parallels? What about bouts of murder rage and existential crisis about a weapon filled with souls? If only our biggest problems were "my heart is connected to a shadow monster" and not "the real world is filled with garbage". Is that where we're at? WHO KNOWS! Outro music is "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Grizzly Bear. |
Thu, 3 November 2016
In which we encourage you all to embrace the abyss. (It’s an uplifting episode.) On this week’s show, we demonstrate our veal for life by steering into some dark skids. Also, we talk about the third episode of Class, “Night Visiting”, which is pretty friggen great you guys. How will Drunk Brandon and Danica deal with teens experiencing loss and emotion? Let’s say well. It goes well. |
Wed, 26 October 2016
In which Class is in session. Because... because, get it? Class? Oh, you get it. Danica and Brandon return this week to talk about the first two episodes of CLASS - the latest Doctor Who spin-off show that they can't quite remember the episode titles for! (Psst: they're "For Tonight We Might Die" and "The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo"). Along the way, they stumble through plot points such as SPACE DRAGONS and ROBOT MAKE-OUTS and then meander into other pop culture stuff happening like TIMELESS. Have you been watching that? You should be watching that. Outro music is "Cold Hard Bitch" by Jet |
Mon, 17 October 2016
In which we celebrate good time. C'mon. On what is almost definitely Doctor Whooch's first and only A Hundredth episode, we have a couple of guests that have never been on the show before... sober Brandon and Danica! No lies, this one is weird. But if you ever wondered how much of the show comes about because we're drunk, and how much of the show is just us, well... you're going to get your answer. Thank you to everyone who listens to the show - you mean a lot to us, and we're pretty fond of you. Here's to many more over the next few years. Outro music is "Hang on to The Night" by Tegan and Sara |
Thu, 29 September 2016
In which we celebrate our 100th episode for what is almost definitely the first time. The alcohol flows freely on this week's celebratory 100th episode, in with Danica and Brandon welcome special guest Chris Sikkenga (of Montreal Sauce and Film Frown) to the show! Chris (the scamp) chose the final episode of Series 1 to watch - The Parting of Ways - and the gang gets well and truly sauced and forgets to talk about the plot for much of the hour. Get ready for some McConaughey and try some of Jackie Tyler's Space Jerky as we all talk about Daleks being stage divas, sex in the undernet, and Trevor. Also: Danica throws hands at T-Swift. All this, and a lot more! Outro music is "I Really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepsen. |
Thu, 22 September 2016
In which we're 100 episodes old. So that happened. On this week's show, we celebrate our First Hundo with special guest Jorts Bazingles - aka Superfan Josh Bazin. Listen as Brandon almost gets too drunk to function drinking a Delicious Concoction! Swoon at the insights of Jorts! Marvel at the patience of Danica! All while they attempt to explain the plot of "A Town Called Mercy" from the 7th Series to varying degrees of success. Thanks again to Jorts for appearing on the program. You can find Jorts on Twitter at @joshYEG. |
Thu, 8 September 2016
In which we are in fine form. FINE form. On this week's show: Danica and Brandon will babysit your kids! It could be the worst decision of your life. Also: they watch "Time Heist" from Series 8 and are... pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed it. Also also: they are pretty loopy tired from moving a whole comic store, so uh... strap in. It's an interesting ride. Outro music is "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. |
Thu, 1 September 2016
In which we are perilously close to falling asleep, but Martha Jones is there, so things are good. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon hit up "Smith and Jones", and dig into some strangeness with a strange old lady wielding a straw. Also, the moon! Rhinos? Markers! Swooning! And other things that are good, like hair mussing. Outro music is "Daft Punk is Playing In My House" by LCD Soundsystem |
Thu, 25 August 2016
In which we are too busy staring at a man in a blue suit to follow the plot. On this week's show, Mr. Butts and Mr. Peanutbutter take on another series 3 episode with "The Lazarus Experiment". It's a whole thing with Mark Gatiss being an old man who suddenly isn't so old and is both a figurative and literal monster. Also, there's a church, and like family stuff? Basically, there's a lot to try and pay attention to while Tennant is swanning around making faces and ruffling his hair and stuff. Yeah girl, go get itttt. Outro music is "Kokomo (Beach Boys Cover)" by The Vandals. |
Thu, 18 August 2016
In which we tell you all our thoughts on god. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon are floating like leaves in the wind and rolling their eyes at a whole lot of things. Our hearts are cold and dead! Our livers are swimming! It's a whole thing. Anyway, we watch "The Rings of Akhaten" which is hard to spell, and is full of tree hands and shenanigans. And is also fun. But you know, whatever. Also, there's cupcakes, for REASONS. Outro music is "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla |
Wed, 10 August 2016
In which Danica is a war criminal. On this week's episode, we reach the end of The River Song Timeline with "Forest of the Dead", in which there's more flesh eating darkness and some heart rending sadness. People run! Some of them die. Others don't? And then there's a thing that happens with a screwdriver. So you know. Spoilers. Outro music is "Confident" by Demi Lovato.

In which we near the end of the River Song timeline, and do not get really sad at all. On this week's show, we kick things off by ruining the Doctor Who theme song for everyone forever. We regret nothing. Or... we regret some things. Anyway, then it's time for "Silence in the Library", in which there are no Silence, just silence, and also sadness. Yeah. Yep. In which we return to Series 8 with our eyes narrows and our hearts cold and dead. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon take a trip back to the early days of the 12th Doctor by visiting "Robot of Sherwood" and get distracted with a very loose ranking of various Robin Hoods. It's a whole episode filled with two white dudes being snippy at each other and man, you wonder if there will be any drunk opinions about THAT. Outro music is "Men Explain Things To Me" by Tacocat

In which the angels do a thing, again. Ugh. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon continue to stumble through the River Song timeline with "The Angels Take Manhattan" from Series 7, an episode that seems to crumble the more we watch it. Marvel at the straight up weirdness of the whole thing! Listen carefully as words become less coherent along with the episode! Outro music is "Good Girls" by Elle King Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 14 July 2016
In which we return to deal with a floppy man complaining about his first world time and space problems. On this week's edition of the show, Danica and Brandon continue to trip down the River Song timeline with FLESH AND STONE, a not-at-all terrifying episode involving weird stone space monsters. (I WONDER WHICH CREATURES THOSE ARE??!?) Along the way, people die. And some don't! And Matt Smith remains floppity. Also, we discuss Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, because everybody should at some point in their lifetime. Outro music is "Let's Misbehave" from Miss Fisher's. |
Wed, 29 June 2016
In which we've fallen back onto or off of the wagon, depending on how you look at it. It's been a while, but we're back with new episodes, and we're still travelling on the River Song timeline. Which gets confusing. But we're doing it. This week? It's The Time of Angels from Series Five and nothing bad happens at all! Except for, you know, all the horrible things that happen. Then it's straight onto pop culture, because we watch other things to, sometimes. When we're not doing comic store stuff. Alright awesome talking with you all love you byyyeeeeee. |
Thu, 7 April 2016
In which we end with Millennial Nightmare Fuel. On this week's show, it's "The Wedding of River Song" as we continue to hop through the River Song timeline. Guess what? It's complicated, and it's only going to get more confusing as we go, because it's about to loop in on itself. Funnnnnnnnnn. Also FUN FACT: did you know that this was the episode we watched when we first met each other? IT WAS. And so you get a sappy story alongside this one where Winston Churchill is Caesar. Yeah, shit gets bananas, and The Doctor ends up looking like a Hobo Matt Fraction. Outro music is (to be experienced as a horrible nightmare)

Thu, 31 March 2016
In which we forgot the title of the episode immediately after saying it. On this week's episode: we get afraid of wifi as we watch the series seven episode called... called... ugh. I think I lost the name of the title again already. Hmm. Well, whatever it is, there's a heaping spoonful of misogyny in there because we can't have nice things. Also, we talk about that. The part where we can't have nice things, but we SHOULD, because sci-fi can be ANYTHING TO ANYBODY, so why not do that? And uh OH OH OH, it was called "The Bells of Saint John". Ha. I KNEW I'd remember that. Outro music is “Hey Girl” by Tacocat. Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 24 March 2016
In which we turn down for butts. This week's episode follows along the River Song timeline with a little ditty called "Let's Kill Hitler" from Series 6. FUN FACT! This was the first episode Brandon watched live, which would lead him down the path to meeting Danica. Doctor Who is the best, you guys. Also on this week's episode: a deadly game of murder chicken, and a lot of singing. And a special outdo song you don't want to miss. Trust us on this one. Outro music is “Turn Down For Butts” by DJ Snake, Lil Jon and ??? Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Fri, 18 March 2016
In which someone pulls a Phillip K Dick move. On this week's show: we head back to Series 7 and take a "Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS" with a spaceship full of assholes. We also see various rooms from the TARDIS. And The Doctor is weirdly sexist? Or I guess more overtly. There was a thing. Many things. And drunkeness. Outro music is “Shiny Happy People” by R.E.M. Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 10 March 2016
In which the title really speaks for itself. This week on the show, Brandon and Danica are on to the next stop in the River Song timeline: "Day of the Moon". And good news! Mark Shepard is still here. That was super nice of him to stick around and be handsome on a genre show. Beyond that, this one has a bit of everything. Singing! Weird phrasing! Dancing? Maybe. How would you even know? You wouldn't. So there. Outro music is “Man on the Moon” by R.E.M. Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 3 March 2016
Preferably an Earl Grey, but we're open to options. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon head back to series 6 to watch "The Girl Who Waited". Fun fact! Brandon talks about watching this episode for the first time in crying in bed and it's not awkward. Nope. And what else. Um... oh! Rory is pretty much useless in this episode, which is weird considering he's the one who is supposedly given the big heartbreaking decision. So there's that. And also silliness! Enjoy, nerds! Outro music is “All By Myself” by John Barrowman. Yes, really. Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 25 February 2016
In which Mark Shepard is a handsome car hobo. On this week's show, Danica and Brandon revisit the timeline of River Song with "The Impossible Astronaut", which features several different version of her, and should absolutely NOT get too confusing for our drunk-as-hell podcast. Spoiler alert: Mark Shepard is on it and he is DEFINITELY AMERICAN. Also, Jim the Fish is a thing. And tunnels? And Silence. And guns. And fun. Yes. Fun. FUNNN. Outro music is SPECIFICALLY Nicki Minaj's part of "Monster" |
Thu, 18 February 2016
In which Brandon watches the last episode of the Tenth Doctor episodes that he hasn't seen. Probably. It's the Olympics! Or rather, it's "Fear Her", the 11th episode of series 2. There's a creepy child who draws a dad-satan and has a space flower in her tim-tum! And that's bad. Danica and Brandon are also really, REALLY drunk and say a bunch of things they may or may not regret. Oh well.

Thu, 11 February 2016
In which we fawn over the Last Centurion. That dude is dreamy. As. FUCK. On this week's episode, Danica and Brandon are starting a project that will take them twisting all the way through 2016: The River Song Timeline Re-Watch. Or whatever it was we said when we were drunk. If we even said anything. It all starts with "A Good Man Goes To War" (Series 6, Episode 7) and then goes straight into other things on television. Or rather, it stumbles there. We were preeeeetttty drunk, you guys. Outro music is “Formation” by Beyoncé. Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY. |
Thu, 4 February 2016
In which a useless man fails to do anything well. On this week's episode of Doctor Whooch, Brandon experiences an episode he has never seen before: "Love & Monsters". It's a pretty good episode until it suddenly, violently isn't. The whole thing follows a terrible man who is making a YouTube video of some kind where he talks about trying to stalk The Doctor and dancing in his underwear. Then a thing happens and things get really weird. Like... REALLY weird. You just... you kind of have to see it to believe it. Or listen to this episode. Whatever you wish. Outro music is "Mr Blue Sky" by ELO |
Thu, 28 January 2016
Bye Felicia! This week on Doctor Whooch, Danica and Brandon are talking about the BIG NEWS! Moffat is out. Chibnall is in. Also, there's alcohol. AND SOUND EFFECTS. There's a lot happening in this episode, including talk about the Chris Chibnall penned episode "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" (Series 7, Episode 2). Brian Williams is in it! Rory's dad, that is, not the news anchor. And also, terrible things are said. As always. Outro music is "Pinball Wizard" |
Thu, 21 January 2016
In which there are so many tears, you guys. This episode sees Brandon and Danica finish up "Torchwood: Children of Earth", so you know what that means. Ugly crying. THE UGLIEST CRYING. Also, Danica gets to punch Brandon a lot and wow, drinking for five episodes of Torchwood is some crazy business. Outro music is "Bad Kids" by The Black Lips |
Thu, 14 January 2016
In which we're watching Torchwood again and the drinking is more appropriate. Danica and Brandon are back with their first episode of 2016 with a slurry dissection of the first two episodes of TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH. Or is that Children of Man? Or Men? Brandon is not good with titles, even when he is sober. There's a lot of great stuff to talk about in this episode, such as Captain Jack's complete inability to comprehend CHILDREN, but we also make time to talk about the recent SHERLOCK special where a white dude explains feminism to a room full of silent women. That'll probably go over well. Outro music is "Ghetto Superstar" by Pras featuring May & Ol' Dirty Bastard Podcast picture is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL PHOTOGRAPHY |
