Doctor Whooch

In which WE TOTALLY GOT MARRIED YOU GUYS!

This week's episode was recorded live in Banff the day after we got married because we're adults. Want to hear our thoughts on "Flatline"? There's some of that in there. Want some details about our wedding and how we met? That's in there too. Want to hear about one and not the other? Well, tough, you're going to get both, and you're going to like it. Or, you're going to fast forward through some bits and/or turn off the podcast, because WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE, trying to tell you what you can and can not listen to. This isn't the 60s anymore, mom.

In which Clara's life decisions make us sad. And that's coming from a pair of people who do a drunk Doctor Who podcast.

This week, there's a "Mummy on the Orient Express", which is cool. Also, it's in space, so double cool. The Doctor once again wisks Clara off on an adventure and is kind of a dick about it. But hey, this is their last adventure together, and they can quit at any time, right??? RIGHT??? Hmm.

Oh and there's tequila.

In which there are glitter kittens and beard slaps!

This week we watched KILL THE MOON in which the moon may or may not have been killed. It's a mystery! That is solved by watching that episode of Doctor Who. Also: lots of white dudes die and misandry is enjoyed by all. TEAM CLARA 4 LYFE!

In which there is no basket of kittens. WHY IS THERE NEVER A BASKET OF KITTENS?

We're halfway through this series and more than halfway into the bottle, which is pretty apparent by the time Brandon starts going full fake Irish when attempting a Scottish accent. He doesn't apologize. We also watch "The Caretaker", the Series 8, Episode 6 of the show, and we like it, which is good. Rompsare fun, kids! More romps in the midst of the episodes that are dour as hell! Thaaaaaaaanks.

In which things get tricky.

Here at Doctor Whooch, we love a good heist. Have we talked about Leverage on this show yet? That's a thing we like. This week's "Time Heist" episode was like that, except instead of Timothy Hutton having a drinking problem, Peter Capaldi has like this yelling problem and something crazy happening with them brows. Anyway. In this episode, we piss off some Steves and talk about "Time Heist" (Series 8, Episode 5). Oh, and The Mindy Project. Have you guys watched that yet? Watch that. Watch that, like, all the time.

In which we're moving to the country.

Series 8 continues with "Listen", and we watched and drank and had the opinions. Lots of people are calling this one of the best episodes of Who in quite some time, and... well, they're not wrong, but HEY! We're drunk and we have some bones to pick with Moffet and his consistant body shaming of Clara, amoung other things. Also, we get off topic a lot, because we've been drinking. Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone!

In which Brandon has tried to upload this three times and is tired of this crap.

Let's see, what happened this time. I dunno. You get to typing, you get something pretty good down, the host site goes wonky on you, you lose all the info, you do it twice, and then you get a bit cranky and lose track of all your jokes. There were jokes, though! And, uh... something about being three weeks into the new series, and three drinks in on the podcast. Yeah. Yeaaaah. And that we like Capaldi, and we think this might be Moffet's last series (for reasons) and some other stuff. We were drunk! You are listening! Listen!

In which we're drunk in Hartford!

We're still on vacation, which means we have ANOTHER episode of Doctor Whooch ready for your ears, and this time, we're talking about "Into the Dalek", the second episode of the eighth series. What did we think? Well, we're not entirely sure. We drank more during this episode than any other episode, for vacation reasons, and we can't remember what happened. So, uh... enjoy?

In which we're on vacation, losers!

This week's episode features a first: while we've been doing Doctor Whooch long enough to talk about the two specials that rounded off Matt Smith's run as The Doctor, we've never been recording during a full series. Whelp, that's all clearly changing, because we have Capaldi to talk about! In this episode, we say things! About "Deep Breath"! What exactly? Who knows! Oh, and we also don't mention our engagement, because we recorded it before that happened but HEY YOU GUYS WE GOT ENGAGED! Isn't that cool? That's pretty cool.

In which we anger the liquor gods for the sake of your entertainment.

In this week's episode, we reach the end of the line in our exploration of the first eight Doctors with the Slyverster McCoy serial "Remembrance of the Daleks" where the Doctor and his companion Ace fight the OH MY GOD IS THAT GEOFFREY FROM THE FRESH PRINCE??!?? It is!!!

...I'm sorry, where were we? Oh. Yeah, um, the Doctor and Ace fight Daleks and racism in the 60s during Doctor Who's 25th year on the air, and it's a whole thing. We talk about it. Then we talk about Guardians of the Galaxy a whole lot, because... you guys, it's pretty rad. And we like space travellers.
